False advertising is the quickest way to lose good clients for ever
Even if some may think otherwise, false
advertising could be considered one of the worst inventions of
marketing. Certainly there are many ways to sell a pig in a
poke, this can be very tempting for many. The desire to get
profits on the short term may blur your mind.
False advertising turns clients away and destroys the trust
they had in your company. You might get some profits while the
charm is working, but sooner or later they will see your bad
practices and it is unlikely they will ever buy anything from
you again, you will get a reputation that cannot be cleaned
up.
Think of when you have been deceived, sometimes you have even
got truly angry. Now put yourself in the shoes of a client.
Feel some empathy? Then you are human. Do you feel absolute
indifference? Then you are unscrupulous. To make business
without scruples is a double-edged sword. Think of it
carefully, as acting this way can catch up with you, and we
assure you it will not be cheap or nice.
